You will find 'one good story' here

With Brave Wings She Flies is a powerhouse of a story that packs a colossal punch and leaves the reader contented that they have just read a very different tale encompassing endearing love, chilling evil, and good vs. evil.
One surprise to me in reading the story was learning more about myself. I have been in denial of stereotyping, and I learned from this story that it is still lingering (in me). I won't do a spoiler alert, but it is very well developed, has developed and interesting characters, and has a satisfying ending. I recommend that it is one good story.

A wager and a prayer

A minion of Lucifer and a feminine Michael the Archangel make a wager on the actions of a woman who seems to have no choice left.

This story took some twists that I was not expecting. It ended up being highly entertaining and uplifting. I would easily recommend this short story to any fan of angel/demon stories.

Brilliant good vs evil story

Wow, this story is so full of faith it is amazing. You don’t have to believe in anything or one in particular but it definitely shows that there is *good* in the world. A lot of stories tell the story of good vs evil but this one really hits home in a way that you don’t expect. I really enjoyed it and would love to read more stories like this.

Beautiful

True, there is an abundance of flourished birds as examples in this book, but each one is beautifully done... The designs are all different examples of how TO flourish something, whether it be a bird or not. The bird is taken into account so much due to it's excellent curvature for practicing with the pen and because the quill pen itself was so important, historically, as the book describes. A lot of the prints are so beautifully ornate that you have to take a good look to even see if there is a bird. But it does offer simple exercise instruction and tips, examples with lettering and such. I do not regret adding this book to my library.

definitely ornate and definitely pictorial...

which isn't a horrible thing.I still think there is lots to learn from the bird flourishes technique wise. But there are more than i had expected. (about 2/3 of the flourishes in this book include a bird or feather) I don't really think there's a whole lot of variation overall. There's not much text swashes in this book, which i had hoped for. Also, they are all very complex and busy looking—i thought there'd be a variety. For the price though, not a bad purchase. i will definitely use this for reference.

About the Author

Dr. Eve Shapiro is assistant professor of sociology at Westfield State College. She received her Ph.D. in Sociology from the University of California, Santa Barbara and has published in a number of journals including Gender & Society, Sexualities, and the Journal of Gay and Lesbian Social Services. Her current research elaborates the dynamic relationships between identity and community, including how new information and biomedical technologies are changing the gendered lives of cisgender and transgender individuals.

Not A Bad Voyage

Pennie Mae Cartawick did a pretty good job in writing a Sherlock Holmes short story. In this story, Sherlock and Watson are sailing to India for vacation when they stumble upon a murder on the cruise liner. Since it is a very short story, there is not enough time to build up suspense or confuse the reader on who committed the crime. Therefore, I feel this book will appeal more to a younger audience. But since I am still young at heart, I really enjoyed it.

A Twist Ending

It seems that Sherlock Holmes and Watson can’t even get away from murder when on vacation. On board a ship on the way to India three bodies are found, one after another. In this book we see Holmes and his legendary deductions at work. The reader tries to keep up with Homes and solve the crime with him. I found this a clever short story with a surprise twist at the end.

Sherlock returns!

A must read for Sherlock Holmes fans. The author of this short story has remained true to the original literary Holmes and style of writing, while breathing fresh life into the character with new adventures. Three murders on board ship - but one doesn't make sense. Could a turtle be the murderer?
